When I look at the screen I do not know where to start so I just want to know if I can follow any guidelines of someone who has the same/similar setup as me (such as same mobo&cpu) and just punch in the information and have my computer overclocked instead of spending hours testing things.
This is a picture I found on Google of my motherboard options in the BIOS where I assume the overclocking takes place. I was told that I can reach 3.8 on the stock cooler by only changing the multiplier but now that I want to go 4.0+ GHZ, I assume I need to change both the multiplier and the voltages, correct? I am assuming that if I want to hit 4.0 GHz I would have to change around the CPU voltages as well and this is where I need all the help I can get. I have also read that I need to change the multiplier or something in order to overclock but however I do not see a multiplier option in my BIOS settings (AI TWEAKER). I don't want an overkill, I just want to have more than enough to play my games.
I have read around that I am able to hit 3.8 GHz on the stock heatsink however, I just put in a more powerful heatsink a few hours ago therefore, I would now like to reach at least 4 GHz on an aftermarket heatsink. I believe that my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU causing me to receive the lag spikes every so often during gameplay. After getting random lag spikes during GW2 and BF4 for some time now, I finally learned that the problem is occurring with my CPU.
